The impact of the minimum wage on the disposable income of individuals
NESNÍDALOVÁ, Kristýna
The thesis focuses on minimum wage. The aim of the work is to evaluate the impact of the growth of the minimum wage on disposable incomes of natural persons from employment and self-employed activity from 2011 to 2019. Subsequently, there are suggested measures to help reduce the levies on the income of individuals, thus maintaining the highest disposable income.
Application of consumption function on CR
Poncar, Jaroslav ; Hušek, Roman (advisor) ; Formánek, Tomáš (referee)
Consumer function is a standard instrument of quantitative economic analysis to examine the relationship between consumer expenditure and income or other influencing factors such as liquid assets, interest rates or various demographic and social factors. In this thesis are presented the most frequently used methods in econometric analysis of consumption function. Attention is paid to the hypothesis of absolute income, relative income, life cycle, permanent income, rational expectations and consumption function based on the error correction model. Furthermore, the suitability of individual models for the current economic situation in the Czech Republic is assessed. Subsequently an empirical model of consumption function for the Czech Republic is designed and tested. Furthermore, the estimates of each consumption function model for the period before and after economic crisis of 2008-2009 are performed and compared. Finally, a short-term prediction of the consumption of Czech households is made.
Effect of minimum wages: do regional data tell a different story?
Májková, Tereza ; Baxa, Jaromír (advisor) ; Pertold-Gebicka, Barbara (referee)
This thesis examines the effects of an increase of minimum wage level on unemployment, employment, disposable income and risk of poverty. We contribute to the existing literature by directly comparing results resulting from two similar datasets, one working with national, one with regional data. We use different sets of explanatory variables to see whether they affect the results of the estimation. On national level, our results confirm positive effect of minimum wages on employment of adults and on disposable income - but these findings were not confirmed on regional level. With respect to the regional perspective, the results are however subject to substantial uncertainty and are prone to substantial sensitivity to empirical specification. We attribute this uncertainty mainly to the quality of the data - small number of observations together with large heterogeneity. Taxation of employment income in the Czech republic and Great Britain
Zemanová, Tereza ; Tepperová, Jana (advisor) ; Trgiňa, Gejza (referee)
The aim of this thesis within the theoretical and comparative part to identify the similarities and differences in the taxation of income from employment in the Czech Republic and Great Britain in the context of structural components and on the basis of facts to determine any recommendations for the Czech Republic, whose introduction could have positive impact on the resulting tax burden or, conversely, find and highlight solutions that are applied in the Czech tax system. The application will demonstrate these differences and specifics on examples aimed to seek lower tax liability for a selected amount of income tax and show the way of taxation of income from employment.

Havrila, Lukáš ; Zbranek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Musil, Petr (referee)
In this bachelor thesis I am deal with households and lay stress on variety of social groups in these households. The aim of bachelor thesis is to research and compare structure of individual social groups of households, their income and expenditure, too. In the theoretical part I describe mainly basic concepts, such as economic household, national accounting, EU-SILC, income and expenditure of households. In the practical part I am compare indicators between social groups within the Czech Republic or the European Union. Beneficial is examining the dependence of the average equivalised net household income per 1 person per year in the country surveyed by EU-SILC on the one hand. And spending on household final consumption calculated at 1 person per year surveyed by national accounts of each country on the other hand.

The development of household consumption in the Czech Republic
Pěnička, Jan ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Rusmichová, Lada (referee)
This Bachelor thesis deals with the development of household consumption in the Czech Republic , especially in macroeconomic terms . The aim of the Bachelor thesis is to explore the evolution over time and assess the impact of growth / decline of wages to consumption. The theoretical part describes the brief development of theories of consumption and also explains the basic concepts related to the topic. The practical part is based on the information mentioned in the theoretical part. It focuses on the relationship between selected macroeconomic variables and household consumption. Keynesian consumption function for the current and real prices is derived using regression analysis. The hypothesis, which assumes that the change in the average wage leads to a change in consumption, was proved. The second hypothesis, which assumes a reduction in consumption due to an increase in unemployment, could not be confirmed. Household consumption has been reduced in all monitored EU countries due to economic crisis.
The Development of Household Consumption in the Czech Republic in the Period 2002 - 2011
Rott, Michal ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
The thesis is focused on evaluation of the household consumption development in the Czech Republic in the period 2002 -- 2011. The objective of this work is to delineate main factors of decision-making of households on savings and on consumption in the period of economic boom and in the period of economic crisis. It is pointed out that the key determinant of the decision-making were primarily expectations. This factor contributed to a rapid consumer credit growth in the period of economic boom. In the period of economic recession, a considerable worsening of expectations (unemployment, further fiscal policy decisions) led households to gradual precautionary savings despite the year-on-year decrease in growth of nominal disposable income. Moreover, since 2011, the nominal disposable income declined. This analysis also shows that the factor of expectations influenced household behaviour more than the factor of banks' interest rate policy. This fact was notably evident in the recession when commercial banks responded to the change in rates of the Czech National Bank by lowering their consumer credit interest rates in a lesser extent. However, in this uncertain period of prudent stance of both banks and households, the consumer credit growth slowed down, moreover, it decreased in 2011. This piece of knowledge about this important role of expectations in the period of a great uncertainty that results in building up precautionary savings is indicated also by research papers from abroad.
Households consumption development in the Czech Republic
Arnošt, Václav ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Nečadová, Marta (referee)
This work deals with the progress of composition of households consumption in the Czech republic. The aims of this work are to explore the progress of the composition of households consumption, influation of seasonal leverages in connection with the height of the household consumption and to survey the change in the consumption between years 2008 and 2009 in relation to the economic crisis. The theoretical part consists of concepts and methodical work with the data and describes relation between hight of the disposable income and amount of consumption. The practical part relates to analysis of goods and services price progress, seasonal changes in consumption and progress of expenditure groups.
Households consumption development in the Czech Republic
Málková, Zuzana ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Džbánková, Zuzana (referee)
This work deals with the households consumption. The theoretical part of this paper consists of concepts and relations of households consumption. The practical part relates to analysis of the households consumption, its structure and progress. This part deals e.g. with the relation between consumption, savings and disposable income. I try to find out which portion of gross domestic product belongs to households consumption in the Czech Republic and in the European Union and I analyse the impact of consumption on changes in gross domestic product.
